Skiing in der Lungau ski region
Grosseck-Speiereck, Katschberg-Aineck & Fanningberg
The Lungau ski region is a tariff association, which links three ski areas that are known beyond the limits of Salzburg. About 190 km of well-groomed slopes and 48 lifts are available for enthusiastic skiers. The following ski areas are included in this lift pass:
Grosseck-Speiereck ski area
This very popular ski area for families and pleasure skiers lies about 1 km from the centre of Mauterndorf. It ranges from 1,100 m to 2,400 m and offers wonderful downhill slopes at every level of difficulty. Even beginners and off-piste skiers can get their fill of skiing!
A total of 47 km of slopes, of which 23 km are easy (blue), 17 km more difficult (red) and 7 km are the most difficult (black) runs. 1 gondola cable car, 5 chairlifts and 4 T-bar lifts.

Katschberg-Aineck ski area
Access to the Katschberg-Aineck ski area is from St. Margarethen in Lungau, about 8 km from Mauterndorf. From there you ascend from 1,066 m to about 2,200 m to the centre of the well-known Katschberg ski area on the state border between Salzburg and Carinthia.
A total of 70 km of slopes, of which 10 km are easy (blue), 50 km more difficult (red) and 10 km are the most difficult (black) runs. 2 gondola cable car, 6 chairlifts and 8 T-bar lifts.

Fanningberg ski area
From Mauterndorf it is about 11 km along a well-maintained mountain road to access the small but excellent Fanningberg family ski area. The skier has a good overview and the area offers wide practice slopes especially for beginners and advanced skiers.
A total of 41 km of slopes, of which 18 km are easy (blue), 22 km more difficult (red) and 1 km are the most difficult (black) runs. 2 chairlifts and 3 T-bar lifts.
