Grosseck-Speiereck, Obertauern, Katschberg-Aineck & Fanningberg


In the Lungo ski region, the Lungau ski region (Grosseck-Speiereck adventure mountain, Katschberg-Aineck and Fanningberg) is extended to include the Obertauern ski area as a tariff association. Enjoy four different ski areas, with about 300 km of ski slopes and 50 lifts, each unique in itself!


Grosseck-Speiereck ski area


This very popular ski area for families and pleasure skiers lies about 1 km from the centre of Mauterndorf. It ranges from 1,100 m to 2,400 m and offers wonderful downhill slopes at every level of difficulty. Even beginners and off-piste skiers can get their fill of skiing!

A total of 47 km of slopes, of which 23 km are easy (blue), 17 km more difficult (red) and 7 km are the most difficult (black) runs. 2 gondola cable car, 5 chairlifts and 4 T-bar lifts.

Obertauern ski area


Only 17 km from Mauterndorf to Obertauern and you are in the centre of the delights of skiing in Obertauern, which is known far and wide for its guaranteed snow and après-ski. Obertauern offers well-groomed slopes for beginners to proficient skiers from the end of November to the beginning of May.

A total of 100 km of slopes, of which 60 km are easy (blue), 36 km more difficult (red) and 4 km are the most difficult (black) runs. 1 gondola, 18 chair lifts (NEW 2012/2013: Hochalmbahn), 1 chair-/gondola combination (NEW 2012/2013: Grünwaldkopfbahn) and 6 tow ropes.

Katschberg-Aineck ski area


Access to the Katschberg-Aineck ski area is from St. Margarethen in Lungau, about 8 km from Mauterndorf. From there you ascend from 1,066 m to about 2,200 m to the centre of the well-known Katschberg ski area on the state border between Salzburg and Carinthia.

A total of 70 km of slopes, of which 10 km are easy (blue), 50 km more difficult (red) and 10 km are the most difficult (black) runs. 2 gondola cable car, 6 chairlifts and 8 T-bar lifts.

Fanningberg ski area


From Mauterndorf it is about 11 km along a well-maintained mountain road to access the small but excellent Fanningberg family ski area. The skier has a good overview and the area offers wide practice slopes especially for beginners and advanced skiers.

A total of 41 km of slopes, of which 18 km are easy (blue), 22 km more difficult (red) and 1 km are the most difficult (black) runs. 2 chairlifts and 3 T-bar lifts.
