District capital in Salzburg's Lungau

In the border triangle of Carinthia, Styria and the southern SalzburgerLand, nestled in the gentle Nockberge mountains and the Hohe Tauern mountains, lies the Salzburg Lungau region with the small, fine district capital of TAMSWEG.

Tamsweg is located in the southernmost corner of Salzburger Land, at 1,024 m above sea level. The village has about 6,000 inhabitants and offers its visitors a great range of leisure activities in largely untouched nature. This wonderful natural landscape with its mountain peaks, lakes, streams and alpine meadows opens up countless opportunities to discover the UNESCO Biosphere Park Salzburg Lungau.

that St. Leonhard Church is a Roman Catholic pilgrimage church in the market town of Tamsweg in the Lungau region of Salzburg. The church is located on the slope of the Schwarzenberg above the market town, from where you can see the ossified church with north tower, fortifications and several pilgrimage paths lined with chapels that lead up the mountain in the form of serpentines. The sanctuary is a protected monument.

In addition to the building and the location of the church, the following are considered to be special features: the "GOLDEN WINDOW", whose panes consist only of golden yellow and blue glass.
